Genoa Welcomes New Chair

GenoaUpdate

Genoa Design International is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Glenn Janes as the interim Chair of our Board of Directors. Glenn officially assumed the role on April 21, 2021 and expected to continue in the role for a 12-18 month period.

Genoa thanks past Chair, Mr. Leonard Pecore, for the years of service he brought as an advisor and founder, and recognizes how his keen industry and business development insights not only created Genoa but helped shape it into what it is today. Leonard will continue to serve as a Board Director and contribute to the company’s next chapter.

As Genoa continues to grow and evolve, so must our governance, which is Glenn’s main objective as interim Chair. He will do this by focusing on people and processes that will match and support the company’s strategic ambitions. He will also play a key role in recruiting the next Chair of the Board.

A respected executive, director, and scholar, Glenn has spent his career developing and implementing strategies to successfully finance and commercialize technology locally and internationally.

Initially appointed to Genoa’s Board in 2016, Glenn also serves on the Audit and Risk Committee for the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, the Audit and Risk Committee for Small Federal Government Departments, and the Dr. Leonard A Miller Centre Advisory Committee. He has recently served on the St. John’s Board of Trade, the Board of Canadian Adaptive Snowsports (CADS), the Chapter Executive of the Institute for Corporate Directors Newfoundland and Labrador, and as Secretary of the Rhodes Trust for Newfoundland and Labrador.

Genoa is grateful for Glenn’s continued leadership on the Board in his expanded role, and the waves he will surely make now and into the future.

Learn more about Glenn’s diverse and impressive background (and maybe a little about his wine and drumming pursuits!) below.
