Launched in 2019, the Canada\u2019s Top Growing Companies editorial ranking aims to celebrate entrepreneurial achievement in Canada by identifying and amplifying the success of growth-minded, independent businesses in Canada. It is a voluntary program; companies had to complete an in-depth application process to qualify.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Genoa Design International\u2019s trajectory to growth has been over 25 years in the making. It\u2019s a success story built upon a mindset of innovation and sustained growth, and the fostering of a thriving ecosystem. And it has all been achieved from an unlikely place – a rocky island in the North Atlantic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Genoa Design is anchored firmly in the middle of the shipbuilding process.\u00a0The company delivers\u00a0production design and 3D modeling services to ship and naval defence builders.\u00a0Since\u00a0joining\u00a0Canada\u2019s\u00a0National\u00a0Shipbuilding\u00a0Strategy\u00a0(NSS)\u00a0in\u00a02012,\u00a0Genoa\u00a0has grown from less than 20 to\u00a0a bench strength of 300. Evolving in tandem with growth is the company\u2019s capabilities and capacity to take on significantly larger, more complex projects. Genoa\u2019s\u202funique\u202fapproach to\u00a0scaling\u00a0and building\u202fteams\u202fin a project-based environment\u202fis key\u202fto ensuring the\u202fintegrity of the work\u00a0in fields\u00a0as\u00a0important\u00a0as\u00a0shipbuilding and\u00a0defence.\u202f\u201cWe have never\u202fpursued growth for the sake of growth,\u201d<\/em> says\u202fGina\u00a0Pecore, Genoa\u2019s CEO.\u202f\u201cWe could have chased volume\u202fby\u202fadding\u202fcontractors\u202fto get more projects\u202fout the door \u2013 we haven\u2019t done\u202fthat,\u202fand\u202fthat\u2019s intentional.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
